ABOUT SHINGO
Achieve Shingo Excellence with The Manufacturing Institute, Shingo Affiliate Since 2008.
The Shingo Model is a globally recognised framework for achieving operational excellence. First developed by Dr Shigeo Shingo, the model provides a structured approach to embedding continuous improvement and enterprise excellence at every level of an organisation.
This concept has been studied in-depth and formulated by the Shingo Institute. The model’s scope has since been expanded to include research, educational offerings, study tours, and the Shingo workshops. Our mission as a Shingo Affiliate is to improve the improvement process by conducting research, providing relevant education, performing insightful organisation appraisal, and recognising organisations committed to achieving sustainable world-class results.
It is not another program to implement, it is a structure to anchor current initiatives. Unlike traditional methodologies that emphasise new tools and techniques, the Shingo Model places culture at the heart to ensure that initiatives are embedded into the organisation’s DNA.
The Shingo Guiding Principles set a foundation of beliefs that shape the organisation’s culture and drive sustainable performance. These principles include Respect Every Individual, Lead with Humility, Create Value for the Customer, and Seek Perfection. By aligning systems and behaviours, organisations experience stronger employee engagement, sustainable performance, and a more customer-focused approach to create long-lasting success.
